The Working Group on Energy Conservation and Sustainability and the Green Society of HSMC Students’ Union are jointly organising a barter event, through which semi new items that are in good conditions can be exchanged with participating staff and students. With the Chinese New Year around the corner, let’s seize the opportunity to clean up some stuff, as well as to turn the goods from “useless” to “useful” at no cost. This free event not only minimises wastage and pollution but also help protect the earth.
Date: 2 & 3 February 2016 (Tue and Wed)
Time: 12:00 - 14:30
Venue: The Way, 3/F, Block M
Arrangement: Participants are entrusted and can freely choose and take away items available on-site. Participants have to bring along the relevant items to the venue and bring back the exchanged items home on their own. There will be five categories: (1) clothing and accessories; (2) toys, stationery and gifts; (3) mobile phones, digital and electronics; (4) books and magazines; and (5) miscellaneous. For items not taken away on Day 1, they can be kept until Day 2.
- There is no limitation or quota of exchanging items. Due to hygienic reason, underwear is not accepted. For other clothing, please clean beforehand.
- All participants take part in the event on voluntary basis. The organisers assume no responsibilities on the success of exchange and / or the conditions of the items, etc. By leaving items in the venue, participants agree that the items would be taken away freely by other participants without additional conditions (except those stated in this email by the organisers).
- In case there are unattended remainders after the event, they will be donated to The Salvation Army.
